Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 5.74% or 0.2000 points to trade at 3.6860 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 4.96% or 1.68 points to end at 35.57 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was up 4.03% or 0.142 points to 3.662 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 4.28% or 0.217 points to trade at 4.858 in late trade. Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) declined 2.94% or 0.30 points to end at 9.92 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) shed 0.57% or 0.022 points to 3.860.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 50 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 3.24% or 1.53 to $48.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.90% or 1.34 to hit $47.55 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.55 to trade at $1292.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1270, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.7872.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 94.37.
