Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 1.66% or 0.0190 points to trade at 1.1620 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 1.16% or 0.0950 points to end at 8.2700 and Enel Green Power (MI:EGPW) was up 0.86% or 0.016 points to 1.870 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 4.71% or 0.335 points to trade at 6.785 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 2.04% or 0.190 points to end at 9.130 and ENI (MI:ENI) was down 1.48% or 0.2300 points to 15.3000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 241 to 203 and 2 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.08% or 0.48 to $44.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.57% or 0.28 to hit $47.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.80 to trade at $1165.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1050, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 96.91.
