Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Basic Resources and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 10.10% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.109 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 5.71% or 0.022 points to end at 0.407 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 4.74% or 0.110 points to 2.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which lost 5.51% or 0.51 points to trade at 8.75 in late trade. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 3.97% or 0.050 points to end at 1.230 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 2.44% or 0.030 points to 1.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.23 to $1253.03 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.17% or 1.07 to hit $50.42 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.19% or 1.15 to trade at $53.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8592.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 97.15.
