Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 2.54% or 0.160 points to trade at 6.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 2.09% or 0.660 points to end at 32.180 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 0.87% or 0.400 points to 46.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 3.24% or 11.470 points to trade at 342.350 at the close. Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) declined 3.05% or 1.250 points to end at 39.770 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 2.45% or 1.04 points to 41.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 94 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.05% or 1.250 to 39.770. Shares in Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) rose to all time highs; rising 0.87% or 0.400 to 46.240.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.10 to $1087.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.65% or 0.28 to hit $44.16 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.15 to trade at $48.07 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.13% to 16.7448, while EUR/MXN fell 0.45% to 17.9443.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 99.32.
