Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 8.78% or 0.1590 points to trade at 1.9700 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) added 4.01% or 0.45 points to end at 11.66 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) was up 1.23% or 0.10 points to 7.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MILAN:US), which fell 4.34% or 0.102 points to trade at 2.250 at the close. Mediaset (MILAN:MS) declined 4.20% or 0.196 points to end at 4.472 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was down 4.18% or 0.97 points to 22.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 331 to 125 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.92% or 0.41 to $44.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.98% or 0.48 to hit $49.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.36% or 3.90 to trade at $1094.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0972, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.7090.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.63.
