Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Construction & Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 2.42%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 8.42% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 6.72% or 1.25 points to end at 19.76 and Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) was up 5.23% or 0.20 points to 4.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which fell 0.08% or 0.04 points to trade at 50.17 at the close. TNT Express (AS:TNTE) added 0.15% or 0.012 points to end at 7.904 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 0.15% or 0.11 points to 72.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 124 to 41 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.08% or 0.04 to 50.17.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.75% to 34.96.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 10.45% or 2.74 to $28.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 8.68% or 2.61 to hit $32.67 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.84% or 10.50 to trade at $1237.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1238, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.7760.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.07.
