Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 25.00% or 450.00 points to end at 2250.00 and People`s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) was up 13.66% or 3.10 points to 25.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 8.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) declined 8.29% or 17.40 points to end at 192.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 156 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.58% or 0.24 to $42.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.78% or 0.37 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.40 to trade at $1127.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.22% to 207.715, while USD/LKR rose 0.37% to 134.785.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.60.
