Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Energy, Diversified Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.13% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OSLO:TGS), which rose 7.28% or 11.4 points to trade at 167.9 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) added 5.43% or 1.73 points to end at 33.58 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OSLO:NHY) was up 4.05% or 1.21 points to 31.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC), which fell 3.08% or 11.0 points to trade at 346.0 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) declined 1.06% or 0.02 points to end at 1.59 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OSLO:GJFS) was down 0.34% or 0.4 points to 118.2.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 124 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 4.56% or 2.11 to $48.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 5.11% or 2.52 to hit $51.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.20 to trade at $1147.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.62% to 9.3452, while USD/NOK fell 1.30% to 8.2960.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 95.61.
