Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 2.68% or 1.57 points to trade at 60.07 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 2.61% or 0.955 points to end at 37.495 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.96% or 0.83 points to 43.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which lost 0.51% or 0.55 points to trade at 107.35 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.04% or 0.05 points to end at 129.20 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) gained 0.10% or 0.15 points to 150.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 27 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.00% or 0.06 to $1252.74 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.21% or 1.09 to hit $50.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.19% or 1.15 to trade at $53.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8594.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 97.16.
