Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 4.98% or 0.90 points to trade at 18.97 at the close. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 0.650 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was up 3.57% or 0.040 points to 1.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which lost 7.00% or 7.00 points to trade at 93.00 in late trade. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 3.08% or 0.02 points to end at 0.64 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) shed 0.91% or 1.31 points to 142.04.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 12 and 53 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.47% or 1.09 to $45.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.85% or 0.85 to hit $46.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.92% or 12.15 to trade at $1330.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.02% to 351.400, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 323.000.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 95.81.
