Investing.com - The number of building permits issued in Canada fell unexpectedly last month, official data showed on Thursday.

In a report, Statistics Canada said that Canadian building permits fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of -1.9%, from 0.1% in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -0.3%.

Analysts had expected Canadian building permits to rise to 2.0% last month.
