Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.08% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 2.06% or 0.2900 points to trade at 14.3600 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.50% or 0.1650 points to end at 11.1900 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.33% or 0.0400 points to 3.0400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.47% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0195 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 2.59% or 0.3250 points to end at 12.2100 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.61% or 0.0110 points to 0.6720.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 20 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.39% or 1.10 to $44.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.74% or 1.21 to hit $42.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.35 to trade at $1328.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8364.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 97.35.
