Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 15.93% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.131 at the close. FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 6.18% or 0.170 points to end at 2.920 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 6.08% or 0.039 points to 0.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 9.71% or 0.2700 points to trade at 2.5100 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 5.15% or 0.007 points to end at 0.129 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) shed 4.03% or 0.012 points to 0.286.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 50 to 42 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.15 to $1326.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.38% or 1.07 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.01 to trade at $46.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.33.
