Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Household, Banking and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 15.83% or 0.3800 points to trade at 2.7800 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 6.72% or 0.009 points to end at 0.143 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 6.67% or 0.0090 points to 0.1440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Euro Reliance (AT:EREr), which lost 3.74% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.800 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 3.65% or 0.014 points to end at 0.370 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 2.50% or 0.003 points to 0.117.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 35 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.08% or 27.35 to $1285.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.23 to trade at $51.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8752.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 96.27.
