Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 1.92% or 5.80 points to trade at 307.80 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 1.62% or 0.08 points to end at 5.03 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 1.25% or 81.95 points to 6630.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 2.17% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.600 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 2.02% or 0.090 points to end at 4.360 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) shed 1.95% or 1.10 points to 55.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 227 and 186 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.32% or 0.56 to $43.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.58% or 0.71 to hit $45.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 6.87 to trade at $1252.67 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.43% to 4.2336, while USD/PLN fell 0.26% to 3.7973.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.28.
