Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Palm Oil, Trading and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA), which rose 17.35% or 10.20 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 11.11% or 0.10 points to end at 1.00 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) was up 11.03% or 288.10 points to 2900.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 19.86% or 496.40 points to trade at 2003.00 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 16.67% or 0.10 points to end at 0.60 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 13.61% or 5.20 points to 33.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 112 to 87 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 52-week lows; rising 11.11% or 0.10 to 1.00. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 16.67% or 0.10 to 0.60. Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) rose to 3-years highs; up 11.03% or 288.10 to 2900.20.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.51% or 0.70 to $45.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.43% or 0.71 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.50 to trade at $1136.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.47% to 217.520, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 140.940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.87.
