Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 2.84% or 2.21 points to trade at 79.98 at the close. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) added 2.60% or 1.10 points to end at 43.45 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 2.57% or 0.84 points to 33.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which lost 5.44% or 0.55 points to trade at 9.56 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 5.32% or 0.40 points to end at 7.12 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.89% or 2.46 points to 82.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 337 to 233 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 4.55% or 1.97 to $45.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 4.14% or 1.84 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.15 to trade at $1223.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.4275, while USD/PLN rose 0.16% to 4.1263.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 100.16.
