Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 1.90% or 0.55 points to trade at 29.46 at the close. Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) added 1.44% or 0.15 points to end at 10.57 and TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V) was up 1.41% or 0.062 points to 4.472 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 2.07% or 0.0700 points to trade at 3.3100 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) declined 1.65% or 0.42 points to end at 24.99 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) shed 1.39% or 0.43 points to 30.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 76 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 3.25% or 1.29 to $40.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.05% or 1.48 to hit $37.98 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.30 to trade at $1256.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1028, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.7748.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 96.97.
