Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Tourism and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 10.62% or 1.07 points to trade at 11.15 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL) added 4.81% or 0.480 points to end at 10.450 and Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) was up 3.96% or 0.090 points to 2.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 3.51% or 0.200 points to trade at 5.500 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 3.41% or 0.070 points to end at 1.980 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 2.29% or 0.16 points to 6.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 174 to 172 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.18% or 2.25 to $1229.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.26% to 3.6157, while EUR/TRY fell 0.48% to 3.8851.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.14.
