Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which rose 4.13% or 0.24 points to trade at 6.18 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 4.11% or 1.25 points to end at 31.70 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 3.87% or 1.28 points to 34.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which added 1.50% or 0.105 points to trade at 7.105 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 1.84% or 0.63 points to end at 34.79 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) gained 2.06% or 0.73 points to 36.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.96% or 1.46 to $50.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.97% or 1.42 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.69% or 9.15 to trade at $1327.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1103, while EUR/GBP fell 0.77% to 0.8229.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 95.80.
