Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 0.90% or 0.32 points to trade at 35.72 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 0.83% or 0.29 points to end at 35.34 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was up 0.16% or 0.06 points to 37.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 2.40% or 0.28 points to trade at 11.40 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 2.27% or 0.78 points to end at 33.59 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 2.13% or 0.086 points to 3.954.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 44 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.69% or 0.33 to $48.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.97% or 0.45 to hit $47.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.59% or 8.05 to trade at $1366.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1085, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.8565.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 96.22.
