Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 2.75% or 0.13 points to trade at 4.71 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 1.97% or 0.47 points to end at 24.31 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.54% or 0.32 points to 21.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which lost 3.38% or 0.80 points to trade at 22.90 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 3.05% or 0.305 points to end at 9.685 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) shed 2.71% or 0.38 points to 13.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 187 to 175 and 11 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.70% or 1.72 to $44.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.59% or 1.75 to hit $46.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 9.74 to trade at $1278.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.1277, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8807.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 96.43.
