Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) added 19.63% or 227.60 points to end at 1387.20 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 17.78% or 1.60 points to 10.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 in late trade. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 10.92% or 134.80 points to end at 1100.10 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) shed 10.00% or 1.40 points to 12.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 80 and 46 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $50.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $56.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.33 to trade at $1274.13 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.07% to 203.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.38.
