Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 5.52% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.707 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 3.93% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.2380 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 3.64% or 0.006 points to 0.171 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 3.01% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.355 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 2.94% or 0.003 points to end at 0.099 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 2.31% or 0.050 points to 2.110.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 44 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.67% or 8.62 to $1301.02 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.38% or 0.18 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $50.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1750, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.9134.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.36.
