Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 9.83% or 0.059 points to trade at 0.659 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 4.86% or 0.009 points to end at 0.194 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 2.46% or 0.100 points to 4.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 8.70% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.21 in late trade. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 7.50% or 0.090 points to end at 1.110 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 5.92% or 0.055 points to 0.874.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 30 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.35 to $1185.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $48.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8486.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 101.62.
