Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 2.53% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which rose 11.23% or 1.46 points to trade at 14.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) added 8.31% or 0.03 points to end at 0.43 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was up 7.60% or 1.43 points to 20.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which fell 29.59% or 0.058 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) declined 29.56% or 0.047 points to end at 0.112 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was down 27.78% or 0.010 points to 0.026.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 40 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) fell to all time lows; falling 29.59% or 0.058 to 0.138. Shares in Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) fell to all time lows; down 29.56% or 0.047 to 0.112. Shares in Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) fell to all time lows; falling 27.78% or 0.010 to 0.026.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 6.50 to $1084.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.14 to trade at $50.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0874, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.6965.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 98.16.
