Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.71%, while the MDAX index added 0.70%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 2.88% or 0.565 points to trade at 20.215 at the close. Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) added 2.09% or 2.30 points to end at 112.35 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 2.03% or 3.85 points to 193.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which lost 0.51% or 0.080 points to trade at 15.615 in late trade. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 0.41% or 0.80 points to end at 193.50 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) shed 0.38% or 0.14 points to 35.47.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which rose 2.25% to 35.260, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was up 1.85% to settle at 46.06 and Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which gained 1.76% to close at 63.660.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 2.66% to 20.105 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which lost 0.80% to settle at 71.890 and Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was down 0.61% to 37.430 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 4.02% to 14.990, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 3.15% to settle at 39.015 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 2.18% to close at 59.940.
The worst performers were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was down 3.23% to 139.35 in late trade, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which lost 1.10% to settle at 6.582 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 0.94% to 54.730 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 515 to 248 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.00% to 14.23.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.01 to $1277.69 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.69% or 0.33 to hit $47.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.17 to trade at $50.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.9102.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 93.98.
