Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.48% or 0.0900 points to trade at 3.7200 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 1.98% or 0.050 points to end at 2.580 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 1.53% or 0.20 points to 13.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which lost 1.54% or 0.080 points to trade at 5.110 in late trade. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 1.45% or 0.41 points to end at 27.77 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) shed 0.54% or 0.04 points to 6.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 162 and 26 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $64.64 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1868, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 92.91.
