Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.65% or 0.1360 points to trade at 3.8600 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 2.44% or 0.062 points to end at 2.608 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.71% or 0.44 points to 26.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MI:MS), which lost 1.03% or 0.034 points to trade at 3.252 in late trade. Enel (MI:ENEI) declined 0.85% or 0.045 points to end at 5.240 and Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) shed 0.77% or 0.022 points to 2.818.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 200 to 165 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.73% or 0.44 to $59.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.84% or 0.56 to hit $65.90 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1290.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1900, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.59.
