Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Atlantia (MI:ATL), which rose 5.55% or 0.95 points to trade at 18.16 at the close. Enel (MI:ENEI) added 2.05% or 0.088 points to end at 4.378 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 1.16% or 0.0060 points to 0.5234 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.30% or 0.1530 points to trade at 4.4900 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 2.71% or 0.19 points to end at 6.74 and Luxottica Group SpA (MI:LUX) shed 2.01% or 1.12 points to 54.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 157 and 36 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.30% or 1.58 to $67.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.89% or 1.46 to hit $75.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.20 to trade at $1203.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1614, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8979.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.09.
