Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 1.89% or 0.089 points to trade at 4.790 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) added 1.18% or 0.26 points to end at 22.35 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 0.78% or 0.23 points to 29.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 2.42% or 0.0810 points to trade at 3.2600 in late trade. Exor NV (MI:EXOR) declined 2.33% or 1.42 points to end at 59.60 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) shed 2.08% or 0.21 points to 10.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 235 to 123 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.46% or 0.29 to $62.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.23% or 0.15 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.30 to trade at $1317.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.2334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 89.46.
