Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.80% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 1.04% or 0.030 points to trade at 2.926 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) added 0.66% or 0.021 points to end at 3.104 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 0.37% or 0.017 points to 4.551 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which lost 4.43% or 0.43 points to trade at 9.32 in late trade. Exor NV (MI:EXOR) declined 4.21% or 2.56 points to end at 58.24 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) shed 4.20% or 0.1540 points to 3.5150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 340 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.45% or 0.29 to $63.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.74% or 0.50 to hit $67.12 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.50 to trade at $1332.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.2382, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8875.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 89.51.
