Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which rose 3.89% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.34 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 3.80% or 0.0139 points to end at 0.3800 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 2.68% or 0.0760 points to 2.9140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tod'S (MI:TOD), which lost 8.36% or 5.10 points to trade at 55.90 in late trade. Generali (MI:GASI) declined 3.97% or 0.5200 points to end at 12.5900 and Snam (MI:SRG) shed 3.03% or 0.160 points to 5.125.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 204 to 192 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.48% or 0.22 to $46.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.88% or 0.42 to hit $47.18 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1271.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.07.
