Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 8.74% or 0.300 points to trade at 3.734 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 2.98% or 0.160 points to end at 5.525 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 2.19% or 0.66 points to 30.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V), which lost 1.06% or 0.046 points to trade at 4.290 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 1.00% or 0.06 points to end at 5.46 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 0.94% or 0.28 points to 29.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 68 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.57% or 0.25 to $44.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.45% or 0.19 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.65% or 20.60 to trade at $1227.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7957.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.85.
