Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Investment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP added 0.86% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Canacol Energy Ltd (CN:CNE), which rose 4.77% or 410.0 points to trade at 9000.0 at the close. Ecopetrol SA (CN:ECO) added 2.90% or 40.0 points to end at 1420.0 and Celsia SA (CN:CEL) was up 2.85% or 115.0 points to 4155.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cementos Argos Pf (CN:CCB_p), which lost 1.31% or 140.0 points to trade at 10580.0 in late trade. Pfgrupoarg (CN:ARG_p) declined 0.74% or 140.0 points to end at 18700.0 and Almacenes Exito SA (CN:IMI) shed 0.37% or 60.0 points to 16120.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 7 and 6 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for July delivery was up 0.92% or 1.18 to $128.85 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in July rose 0.13% or 4.00 to hit $3079.50 , while the June Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.60 to trade at $1246.70 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was up 0.10% to 2902.00, while BRL/COP rose 0.19% to 821.89.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 94.52.
