Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.03% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 3.75% or 0.102 points to trade at 2.822 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) added 2.98% or 0.245 points to end at 8.455 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 2.21% or 0.12 points to 5.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which lost 2.95% or 1.47 points to trade at 48.33 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 1.40% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.8425 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) shed 0.97% or 0.55 points to 56.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 182 to 147 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.13% or 0.07 to $53.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $56.57 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.53% or 17.85 to trade at $1183.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.03% to 1.0596, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8542.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.99% at 101.48.
