Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.41% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 3.77% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.550 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) added 3.62% or 0.250 points to end at 7.150 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 3.17% or 0.400 points to 13.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 5.33% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.142 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 4.67% or 0.210 points to end at 4.290 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 3.23% or 0.008 points to 0.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.86% or 0.46 to $53.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.67% or 0.38 to hit $56.84 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.33% or 15.55 to trade at $1180.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.75% to 3.3680, while EUR/PEN rose 0.40% to 3.5698.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.04% at 101.42.
