Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.67% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Li Cheng (TW:4426), which rose 9.91% or 11.00 points to trade at 122.00 at the close. Cci (TW:6230) added 9.66% or 10.00 points to end at 113.50 and Kaori Heat (TW:8996) was up 8.16% or 4.80 points to 63.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crowell (TW:2528), which lost 9.99% or 0.86 points to trade at 7.75 in late trade. Hannstar Touch (TW:3049) declined 9.84% or 0.60 points to end at 5.50 and Career (TW:6153) shed 9.70% or 1.75 points to 16.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 543 to 227 and 80 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.20% or 0.56 to $46.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.89% or 0.43 to hit $47.65 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.33% or 4.15 to trade at $1275.35 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 32.628, while TWD/CNY fell 0.15% to 0.1996.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 94.31.
