Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.06% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 4.66% or 0.94 points to trade at 21.23 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 3.02% or 0.90 points to end at 30.66 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 2.79% or 0.43 points to 16.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 2.28% or 0.295 points to trade at 12.620 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.12% or 0.630 points to end at 55.780 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) shed 0.27% or 0.15 points to 56.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 56 and 18 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.47% to 16.12 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.80% or 0.93 to $50.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.69% or 0.93 to hit $54.01 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.15 to trade at $1170.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0705, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8448.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 100.58.
