Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 1.92% or 0.63 points to trade at 33.40 at the close. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 1.70% or 0.59 points to end at 35.65 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.69% or 2.55 points to 153.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 4.20% or 0.40 points to trade at 9.21 in late trade. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) declined 0.91% or 0.240 points to end at 26.180 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 0.53% or 0.016 points to 2.991.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.95% to 13.10.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.25% or 0.14 to $55.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.65% or 0.40 to hit $61.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.55 to trade at $1281.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1776, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.76.
