Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN), which rose 1.66% or 1.15 points to trade at 70.60 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.26% or 1.80 points to end at 145.20 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 0.82% or 0.69 points to 85.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.27% or 0.36 points to trade at 15.47 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.10% or 0.250 points to end at 22.520 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) shed 0.33% or 0.05 points to 15.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 62 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.47% to 10.83.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.77% or 0.38 to $49.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.52% or 0.29 to hit $55.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.09 to trade at $1284.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
