Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.05% or 0.85 points to trade at 42.53 at the close. Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 1.59% or 0.300 points to end at 19.195 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.58% or 1.18 points to 75.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 22.59% or 3.65 points to trade at 12.51 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 2.98% or 1.02 points to end at 33.40 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.37% or 0.36 points to 26.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 52 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.17% to 10.48.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.47% or 0.80 to $55.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.80% or 1.09 to hit $61.71 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 9.02 to trade at $1269.08 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1608, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 94.87.
