Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 3.44% or 0.71 points to trade at 21.32 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.74% or 2.52 points to end at 147.74 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.48% or 2.34 points to 160.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.60% or 0.575 points to trade at 21.545 in late trade. Relx PLC (AS:REL) declined 1.05% or 0.180 points to end at 16.995 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) shed 1.03% or 0.39 points to 37.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 57 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.85% to 19.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.09% or 0.73 to $66.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.63% or 1.26 to hit $76.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.30 to trade at $1225.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1366, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 96.61.
