Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 7.20% or 0.50 points to trade at 7.47 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.54% or 2.20 points to end at 145.40 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 1.24% or 2.70 points to 220.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 1.83% or 0.480 points to trade at 25.720 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 0.81% or 0.12 points to end at 14.04 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.70% or 0.17 points to 24.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 56 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.34% to 11.73.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.64% or 0.37 to $57.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.01% or 0.63 to hit $63.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.80 to trade at $1265.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1813, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.36.
