Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 4.52% or 1.74 points to trade at 40.20 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 3.60% or 0.09 points to end at 2.44 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.52% or 0.630 points to 25.635 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group NV (AS:NN), which lost 1.64% or 0.61 points to trade at 36.64 in late trade. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.22% or 0.028 points to end at 2.264 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) shed 1.06% or 0.056 points to 5.218.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.86% to 12.06.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.40% or 0.26 to $65.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.74% or 0.53 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.00% or 11.80 to trade at $1196.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1460, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8966.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 95.85.
