Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which rose 3.70% or 0.685 points to trade at 19.190 at the close. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 3.43% or 1.62 points to end at 48.85 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 2.85% or 0.97 points to 35.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 4.38% or 0.76 points to trade at 16.48 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.60% or 0.500 points to end at 82.750 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 0.14% or 0.11 points to 77.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.40% to 11.35.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.31% or 0.16 to $52.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $58.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.56% or 7.14 to trade at $1271.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.07% to 1.1686, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.84% at 94.32.
