Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN), which rose 1.25% or 0.92 points to trade at 74.75 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.19% or 0.320 points to end at 27.320 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was up 0.98% or 0.15 points to 15.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 2.73% or 0.96 points to trade at 34.42 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.64% or 1.420 points to end at 85.220 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.41% or 0.270 points to 18.895.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 62 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.54% to 10.94.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.28% or 0.15 to $54.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.21 to hit $60.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.88 to trade at $1278.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1658, while EUR/GBP rose 1.87% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.63.
