Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.38% or 3.290 points to trade at 78.480 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 0.81% or 0.35 points to end at 44.22 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 0.46% or 0.04 points to 8.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 1.84% or 3.95 points to trade at 210.65 in late trade. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) declined 0.80% or 0.65 points to end at 80.26 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.54% or 0.085 points to 15.545.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 52 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.71% to 10.52.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $64.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 8.30 to trade at $1278.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1847, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.96.
