Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN), which rose 1.95% or 0.58 points to trade at 30.39 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.17% or 0.005 points to end at 2.950 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 0.08% or 0.07 points to 84.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which lost 3.06% or 1.10 points to trade at 35.00 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.58% or 0.083 points to end at 5.151 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 1.25% or 0.41 points to 32.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.65% to 12.44 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.21% or 0.12 to $56.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.27 to hit $63.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.04 to trade at $1279.24 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.8898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.44.
