Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 3.16% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.29 at the close. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) added 0.72% or 0.34 points to end at 47.42 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.59% or 0.28 points to 47.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.45% or 0.705 points to trade at 28.045 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.51% or 0.54 points to end at 35.30 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) shed 1.30% or 0.48 points to 36.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.64% to 12.12.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.61% or 0.40 to $65.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.06% or 0.82 to hit $76.50 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1302.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1771, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.57.
